“Since its creation in 2014, Charlotte-based artists Marcus Kiser and Jason Woodberry’s Afro-futuristic exploration of contemporary cultural, political and social themes have appeared in creative spaces across the globe as well as Goodyear Arts, Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture, McColl Center for Arts + Innovation, and Duke Energy Theatre at Spirit Square.
It includes physical creations, spoken word and music with fellow creative Quentin Talley. Now a Knight Foundation grant allowed Kiser and Woodberry to create the first “Intergalactic Soul” murals off West Trade Street across from Johnson C. Smith University’s Arts Factory.”
